Are you excited about the impending release of Justice League: the fifth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU)? Excited enough to get a character or the entire ensemble cast tattooed on you? If you’re undecided, this post might just nudge you that bit closer to making an appointment with your tattoo artist of choice.
I’ll admit, I have very little knowledge of the Justice League. When it comes to these characters, I associate Wonder Woman with the television show; Michael Keaton as Batman in Tim Burton’s films; The Flash from that terrible 90s television show that fans probably want to forget all about; and Superman as either Christopher Reeve or Dean Cain from the original movies and the television series.
Luckily this post isn’t about providing you with facts – tattoos are the focus, and those I know plenty about.
There is a measly 300-odd #justiceleaguetattoo images currently on Instagram – and many of them actually have no association with DC or the Justice League at all. Some of the images tagged actually feature Marvel characters, and the ones that are accurate focus on individual characters, not the league as a whole.
Sadly, many of these tattoos are not very good. When it comes to tattoos, outside of Batman, Marvel tattoos are far superior. Maybe I’ll do a Marvel vs DC post in the future – iis that something you would be interested in?
The one positive out of all of this is that we’re guaranteed to see hundreds, if not thousands, of Justice League tattoos flooding social media over the coming months. These tattoos will come from artists worldwide, in a range of styles, and will definitely impress.
In the coming weeks, I’ll be following up with a few more Justice League character posts bursting with tattoo inspiration. For now, enjoy these 15 superhuman tattoos…
