Highly Decorative Hand Poked Tattoos by Oliver Whiting

Whiting takes hand poked tattoos to a whole new level.

Hand poked or dotwork tattoos are not just all about mandalas, as you’ll soon see in the work of Oliver Whiting.

From October, Whiting will be working his tattooing magic from Hamburg, Germany. But thanks to the wonders of the internet, you can see some of his best pieces right here – right now.

Whiting’s work is quite different from what you’ve come to expect from dotwork tattoos. This comes down to the subject matter and the tattooing techniques he uses. Sometimes the pieces are completely hand poked, but others are a combination of hand poked and and electric tattoo machine. Then there’s the interesting designs – like Shakespeare as you’ve never seen him before, and the precision with decorative patterns.

It’s that kind of detail which will make you stop and take a closer look at Oliver Whiting’s work.
