10 Of The Best Elton John Tattoos

Today, March 25 is the legendary singer, Elton John’s 70th birthday. In celebration of the big day I have found for you ten of the best Elton John tattoos. This was actually a far more difficult task than I had anticipated – there are few Elton John tattoos in existence. For a man with such a decorated career it is weird how few people have decorated their own bodies with a portrait of the man himself.

Elton John has won or been awarded  just about every honour there is – a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, multiple Grammy awards, a Tony award, and an Academy Award for Best Original Song for “Can You Feel The Love Tonight’. In fact, my first introduction to the music of Elton John was from the Lion King soundtrack which also happened to be the first CD I ever owned (I’m really showing my age).

Aside from music, he founded the Elton John AIDS Foundation in 1992 and to date has raised hundreds of millions of dollars to support those living with HIV/AIDS, raise awareness of the disease, and fund prevention programmes. His musical and charity achievements saw Elton receive his knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II in 1998.

His fifty year career has seen him sell over 300 million records – could you imagine if each person who owned an Elton John CD went out and got an Elton John tattoo? If that thought’s a little overwhelming, take a look at these ten Elton John tattoos instead.
